Know where you stand before test day.
The Writing tab takes the four criteria for Task 1 and Task 2. Task 2 counts twice as much as Task 1, so the Writing band is (Task 1 + 2 × Task 2) ÷ 3, rounded to the nearest half band. You see your estimate, its band description (for example Competent user) and how far you are from your target.
The Overall band tab averages your four skills — Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking — each scored 0–9 in half bands. One tap brings in your Writing estimate from practice.

Can I calculate my IELTS Writing band in the app?
Yes. Enter the four criteria for Task 1 and Task 2; the Writing band is (Task 1 + 2 × Task 2) ÷ 3, rounded to the nearest half band.
Can I calculate my overall IELTS band score?
Yes. The Overall band tab averages Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking, each scored 0–9 in half bands.
